Abstract:In this talk, we will study the Gelfand-Kirillov dimensions of highest weight Harish-Chandra modules for noncompact Lie groups. In the first part, we recall some definitions about the Gelfand-Kirillov dimension. In the second part (joint work with XunXie), by using Lusztig’s a-function we will give a combinatorial algorithm for the Gelfand-Kirillov dimensions of all irreducible highest weight sl(n)-modules. In particular, from this algorithm we can easily determine the associated varieties of highest weight Harish-Chandra modules for SU(p, q). Finally, we will give a formula which can determine the associated varieties of highest weight Harish-Chandra modules for all types (joint work with Markus Hunziker and Roger Zierau).
